The best Bodycam settings depend on your GPU, display, resolution, and target frame rate. Start with stable frame pacing, then improve visibility, and only then raise image quality. Steam Support lists Windows 10/11, 8GB RAM, 50GB storage, and an RTX 2070 or RX 5700-class GPU as minimum guidance; that is a floor, not a promise of identical performance on every map.

Tune in this order

  1. Set the display to its native resolution and choose a frame-rate cap you can hold on the same route.
  2. Reduce processing that adds noticeable delay. Change one option and test your turn, aim, and burst control.
  3. Check a doorway, a dark room, and an outdoor sightline. Keep enough shadow and post-processing detail to read edges without creating frame-time spikes.
  4. Lower shadows and reflections before dropping every setting to low. Texture quality is often less disruptive than lighting quality.

Test visibility and latency separately

Stand still in a dark area, then sprint through a doorway, turn quickly, and fire a short burst. A clear still image does not prove that movement feels responsive. Keep a setting only when the three tests feel acceptable.

Treat creator presets as starting points

A “2026 best settings” video is tied to that creator’s GPU, display, and recording setup. DLSS 5 is not confirmed by the current primary sources for this project, so do not treat it as a guaranteed Bodycam option. If a change creates flicker, washed-out shadows, or delay, roll back to the previous note.
